Our therapists
Maria Harman
Maria Harman (#00002412), BSc (Hons), AMACCPH, is an Accredited Member of ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists), and MZR Counsellors is an ACCPH Organizational Member. This means her training and practice have been independently assessed against ACCPH’s professional standards for therapeutic work.
Accreditations
Maria holds a Bachelor of Science (Second Class Honours) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Derby (2014), providing a strong academic foundation in psychological theory and research.
She has completed additional specialist training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy through the University of Toronto (via Coursera), supporting evidence-based work with low mood, relationship difficulties and life changes.
Maria has also completed a Level 3 Advanced Diploma as a Data Protection Officer, ensuring that all client records and communications are managed in line with current data protection and GDPR requirements.
In addition, she has undertaken Stewards of Children safeguarding training with Darkness to Light, focused on recognising, preventing and responding appropriately to concerns about child sexual abuse.
Together, these qualifications reflect Maria’s commitment to safe, ethical and well-governed therapeutic practice.
